Logistics support for National Parks and Wildlife storm cleanup
Re: Logistics support for National Parks and Wildlife storm cleanup, July 2011.
On behalf of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, I wish to extend a sincere thank you to you and the staff at the Redleaf for the assistance you provided recently during wind storm clean up operations.
As with the management of fires and other incidents, NPWS called upon additional assistance from personnel outside the Blue Mountains Region in an effort to re-open and make safe fire trails, walking tracks and visitor sites.
Consequently, we had a number of additional staff to feed and accommodate, and it is important for us to be able to do this from local, reliable suppliers. As has been done on numerous other occasions, the Redleaf provided quality meals and accommodation which exceeded the expectations of crews working in the field. In particular, I would like to acknowledge your extra efforts in providing an additional breakfast for our staff at short notice. Undoubtedly, you have contributed to a successful operation and have greatly assisted in re-opening National Park areas to the visiting public.
